We've had a ton of birds while everything has been covered in snow. We've had sparrows, juncos, chickadees, starlings, doves, woodpeckers, bluebirds and cardinals everyday. We've also had wrens, house finches and mocking birds visit us. It's kind of hard to see the birds in these pictures, but we had 20 or 30 at a time all day for days. The kids had a lot of fun watching them all.

meeting evelyn
This is my new niece, Evelyn (Nathaniel and Johnelle's daughter). She was born on February 1st. I finally got to meet her 6 days later and everyone else in my house had to wait for 13 days since we all decided to get sick when she was born.

the baby that hates food
Briar had her first solid food on her birthday (Jan. 27th). She pretty much hates all food. She puts everything on earth in her mouth except food. She fights and hides from food. And she somehow knows when something is food and not a toy or dust or trash (which she will happily eat). I'm typing this on February 17th and so far she likes to drink smoothies and she will tolerate a couple foods for a bite or two, but this just started in the last week.
This is scrambled eggs.
Banana.
Yogurt.

bonnet model
This is a bonnet I made for my brand new niece. My original model (Briar) wouldn't hold still so Crosby got to model it.

a sad birthday
Briar might have had the worst first birthday ever. She had an ear infection and a cold and was miserable. Her banana birthday cake was supposed to be her first food but she was too upset to try it. It just made her mad.

snow
This is my parents' front yard during our blizzard.
This is my dad's official measurement. I think the official official measurement was 30.2".
My parents' back porch.
The front yard the next morning.
The backyard and driveway.
Our driveway. the snow is much deeper than it looks in these pictures. There is a pretty tall bird bath over by the feeders.
Our backyard. These pictures are from a day or two later after the snow had compacted some.
