A few more Egypt projects.
Mummifying apples. We covered a slice in salt, one in baking soda, one in Epsom salts and left one in air for a week.
After a week we brushed them off
and weighed them to see what had taken the most moisture from the apple. Salt worked the best and was the only one with no mold. The kids wanted to put the salt one back in salt for another week and see what happened. We went on vacation when it should have been taken out of the salt so it ended up being two more weeks. Nothing changed. It was still moldless and still weighed exactly the same amount.
Making Egyptian toys - rag balls.
Our balls weren't very round.
A sugar cookie map of Egypt. The blue is the Nile. The blue at the top is the Nile Delta. The white squares are small sugar cube pyramids.
Mummy stromboli.
