stitches

One of my children finally had to get stitches and it wasn't Gage. Apparently one of the arm rests in our van in partially falling off. Rory was kneeling on it trying to get over and slipped and cut her leg on the metal underneath. She ended up needing five stitches.

Here is the cut. For some reason it quit bleeding for a few minutes and then started up again. (Sorry the picture isn't so great - I took it with my phone.)

Here it is all stitched up.

And here she is bandaged. She's feeling pretty good at the moment. It is only hurting her a little bit. We'll see how it feels in the morning.

coloring

Rory and Gage made this room for Piper in their house. She didn't seem to notice that she was in a very heavy blanket and that it was ninety degrees out. She just sat there and colored. (And, yes, I realize that this is a terrible picture.)

picnicing

There is a park in Lancaster called Long's Park. About six weeks ago we saw a duck lay an egg there. Since then, the kids want to spent all our time there. We've had many picnics there this year. There are lots and lots of picnic tables, at least five or six playgrounds - one of them a big wooden one like the one in E-town, a petting zoo and a lake with a path around it. There are tons of ducks and geese and fish and lots of turtles (we saw six on this trip). Sometimes we take bread or crackers to throw  to the fish. They all jump out of the water over top of each other to get it and we all get splashed which Gage thinks is great. There are also some huge koi in the lake. I'm pretty sure they're as big as Crosby.

I realize this is a very blurry picture, but it is Piper's first time on a big kid swing. She was quite proud of herself. (Notice the upside down sunglasses on her head.)

Gage was very excited that he made it the whole way across here. Rory climbed on, said it was too movey and went to play with her new friend. She claims this girl's dad speaks another language which Rory thinks is great.

There was a street sweeper driving around while we had lunch. Gage is on the table waving to the driver in this picture. If you make the picture big, you can just see the driver waving back.

Three very cool kids on a picnic table.

Here are lots of baby pictures.

And look, he's even awake in the wrap. He was asleep within five minutes of taking these pictures, however.

Some pictures from the nice green lake.

There are two turtles on the right side of this log that Rory spotted.

A little girl who can never keep up.

watching

This is how the kids were watching a movie the other day. They told me they needed all the furniture arranged like that and that the toys and blanket needed to be right where they were so it was right (I never did figure out what was being made right). Apparently Gage is also more comfortable watching movies while standing.

... not quite sure of a title for these

This is what Gage and Rory showed up wearing earlier.

sunglasses

Piper has suddenly given up her nine month hat habit and moved on to sunglasses. She wears them whenever she feels like it (which is quite often) whether she is inside or out or whether it is dark or light.

This is where they go when she isn't wearing them.

cat watching

fathers' day

We had a Fathers' Day picnic at a park in Lititz yesterday since it was supposed to rain today.

Here are the kids eating lunch.
Piper thought she should skip lunch and go to the swings. She took one bite of tomato, picked up her quesadilla, put it back down and said, "All done, swing".

Rory made sure to pose with her quesadilla.

And Crosby missed lunch.

Sand fun. Piper isn't a big fan of actually touching sand.

Frog and whale riding.

A handsome guy with large cheeks.

Riding the train. This was the best picture where no one was crying.

Crosby's first time playing in the sand. Even if he did just lay in it on my skirt.

Piper's new found talent. She is very proud of herself.

Duck watching.

a great accomplishment

Look, it's Piper in a strapless dress!
For anyone who may be unaware Piper thinks that she should have on long sleeves, leggings, a hoodie, shoes, socks and a hat at all times. We had a lot of breakdowns transitioning from long sleeves to short or sleeveless and from leggings to bare legs. However, I put this dress on her yesterday and she actually likes it. (It ended up being too big and falling off so she had to change anyhow)
