car show

Adam, Gage and Piper went to a car show last Saturday. I don't really know what Piper thought went on at car shows, but she seemed to think it was going to be the most fun she ever had. I don't think she found it nearly so exciting after she got there. She did get to see some purple cars though. And Gage got to see lots of Corvettes which he loves.

shed kitten

A few days ago the kids heard a kitten under our shed. I think that it was one of the ones born in our grass pile. (After we found them the mother moved them. Our neighbors found them again in the field behind our house and then one of the kittens disappeared.) We haven't seen the mother or babies for weeks until now.

Rory spent lots of time meowing at it and coaxing it out from under the shed. It would come out and see us but not let us touch it. It spent the whole night sitting out there meowing.

It let us get a little closer the next day. The kids put out a little bit of food for it that it ate in about 10 seconds. By about 2 that afternoon it came close enough that I could pick it up. It is now living in our house. I'm not sure if we are keeping it or not but it seems to be rather hungry and we never saw its mother while it was under the shed so it is at least visiting us for awhile. We don't know who the mother belongs to - we've always assumed she lives on a farm nearby. She's been wandering around here since we moved in but now we haven't seen her for a month or more.

The kids have named it Biscuit Candy Marshmallow Checkeye. Piper and Rory wanted to call it Marshmallow but Gage didn't. They all agreed on Biscuit and then Gage added Candy because he thought the cat should have some dessert in its name. And then somehow Marshmallow showed up at the end.
