susquehanna

The kids have been waiting to take another walk along the river at the same place as in this post. They wanted to play in the rocks on the river bank and I need nice round river rocks to make crochet rocks out of. The kids have been asking to go since December or January and I've had the crochet ready to put on a rock since January but there has been too much snow and ice. We finally got to go on Saturday. They trail was back out from under the snow but the river ended up being too high from melting ice. So, we took a walk but we still haven't made it to the river bank.

Gage wanted to take this stick with him to the end of the trail - almost a mile and half. He was moving very slowly dragging it along to throw in the river. He finally agreed to throw it in a creek near the parking lot instead.

Miss Piper.

Rory and Gage.

There is a flock of snow geese in the water at the back of the field.

Playing in ice.

Gage discovering goose poop beside him where he sat down to eat his apple.

Gage watching a train behind the trees at the back of the field.

Defeating a snow robot.

Barefoot snow smashing. It was an odd day - warm enough that Rory and I walked in our barefeet but still a lot of snow laying around also.
