longwood gardens

We had planned to go to Longwood Gardens for Easter to see all of the spring flowers. But then we found out that it is very very crowded for Easter. So we went last week instead.

Foxglove.

Tulips.

Rory, Gage and Piper running beside all colors of columbine.

Gage relaxing.

Canterbury bells.

Piper posing with purple flowers.

This fountain is in the middle of the Flower Garden Walk. They always have lots of cool stuff here and it normally fades from one color to the next the whole way down the walkway through all the colors of the rainbow (plus a few more). There are tons of different varieties of spring flowers there now including 110,000 tulips. Apparently deer really like to eat tulips so every night the put an electric fence around all of the flowers and take it back down again every morning before they open.

Some more foxglove.

The other end of the Flower Garden Walk.

A pansy tree.

The pansy tree is part of this yellow, purple and white garden.

Posing on benches.

Watching tadpoles.

Watching everyone else watch tadpoles.

Snack time under a tree house.
