egg dyeing

These ones were made by drawing with crayons on very hot eggs. They turned out kind of weird after we dyed them. They crayon comes off if the eggs aren't entirely cool before you out them in dye and they end up with a weird whiteness around the picture even when they are cool. The crayon melts onto the eggs really nicely and I think they would work out really well with random designs - just not pictures or letters.

Piper's eggs.

Crosby's eggs.

Gage's eggs.

Rory's eggs.

These ones turned out really awesome. You dye the eggs a light color then put swirls of rubber cement on them. When the rubber cement dries you dye them a darker color and then peel the cement off. The kids even made a couple where the base was two colors. They ended up being really cool.
