peachy keen

We went peach picking on Friday at Brecknock Orchards. The kids thought it was great. I'm pretty sure they would have stayed and picked for hours.

This is the beginning of the trail back to the orchard. Rory somehow managed to run for a rather long way with two heavy kids in a heavy wagon. She had to give up pulling when the trail turned into bumpy dirt instead of flat gravel.

Piper has to use two hands to pick a peach. Every time she picked one she would walk around for a couple minutes saying, "I picked a peach!". Then she would go pick another peach.

Crosby wasn't really much help. He just looked cute and tried to eat leaves.

Sixty one pounds of peaches. Gage made sure we got a picture of him hugging them. We made some plain old canned peaches and some peach butter today. Tomorrow we are making peach vanilla bean jam and maple peach sauce. And sometime we're going to have some homemade peach ice cream and I think we'll try this.

This is the playhouse at the orchard. They have a play kitchen and lots of food inside. The kids thought we should stay all day and play in it.
