We took a ferry to Ocracoke Island while we were at the beach. The island isn't terribly exciting. The do have one really awesome store though. Mostly we went for the ferry ride. it's a five mile trip that takes about 45 minutes. There are wild horses on the island, but they have the areas where they live fenced off and the viewing stations are pretty terrible. We saw a couple horse butts from a distance.
